The Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients on an assigned unit.  The staff nurse provides direction to licensed vocational nurses and non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care.  The staff nurse supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital.

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment, maintaining the sterile processing areas, and receiving and distributing surgical supplies and equipment.

The Perioperative RN is responsible for managing the care of the pediatric and adult patient requiring a surgical procedure.  The Perioperative RN is a professional nurse who is directly or indirectly responsible for delivering total nursing care to the perioperative patient during various phases of the perioperative stay. The Perioperative RN participates in the clinical assessment, planning for care, implantation of appropriate nursing techniques and evaluation of nursing interventions.

The Respiratory Therapist I must hold the CRT or RRT redential from the NBRC and must be licensed to practice Respiratory Care in the State of Texas. The Respiratory Therapist I shall deliver competent and compassionate Respiratory Care Services for patients of all age groups through the use of accepted Clinical Practice Guidelines for assessing, treating and documenting the effects of care for the Respiratory Services provided to patients. The Respiratory Therapist I shall work cooperatively with Physicians, Nursing Staff, Ancillary Staff, and other members of the patient care team to maintain standards for professional practices. The Respiratory Therapist I must be able to perform and monitor Moderately Complex Testing as related to the daily function and operation of the Blood Gas Laboratory. These functions of the Respiratory Therapist I shall be carried out according to departmental and hospital policies, the hospital's mission statement, and the philosophy of the department's code of ethics.

The Clinical Coordinator, RN supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff in pursuant to the objectives of the hospital.

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Manager of the unit, the Clinical Coordinator, RN provides oversight during the assigned shift for the clinical and non-clinical staff in the administering of excellent patient care and customer service. The Clinical Coordinator, RN supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff in pursuant to the objectives of the hospital.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to elderly patients on the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Unit. The Registered Nurse provides direction to licensed vocational nurses and non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care. The Registered Nurse provides high quality, skilled nursing services to assist elderly patients to achieve optimum health and functional health status following an illness requiring hospitalization. Through collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals, the nurse prepares the patient and family for discharge to home or another setting for continued care.

The Medical Record Clerk is responsible for the identification and resolution of data and coding edits. 

The Surgical Technologist facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist (A/R Specialist) has responsibility for effectively managing a portion of OakBend Medical Center's Accounts Receivable accounts, including third party payers, government payers, etc. This includes ownership of the timely and accurate collection, resolution and processing of accounts. The A/R Specialist will be an important member of the OakBend team as the timely and accurate handling of accounts enables the organization to continue to focus on excellent and compassionate patient care.   The A/R Specialist will take pride in their results and aggressively pursue every avenue of payment available to maximize reimbursement of each account within his/her area of responsibility for OakBend Medical Center. Being the advocate to collect and manage each account appropriately on behalf of the patient is the path to success for this role's key part in the organization.   Detailed responsibilities will include direct contact with payer representatives, prioritization of claims to optimize money collected, meeting team productivity goals, verifying the accuracy of payments received and timely follow up on discrepancies and denials.

Under the supervision of the Clinic Director or Manager, the Physical Therapist provides various methods of Physical Therapy and supervision by physician orders. Serves as a resource person for PT Assistants and PT Aides.

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Intensive Care Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech provide a variety of patient care and clerical activities. These activities are carried out according to hospital policy, the hospital mission statement and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.    The Intensive Care Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech provide clerical support for the functions of the intensive care unit. Receptionist duties include greeting visitors in a friendly manner, courteously answering the telephone and taking accurate messages, and maintaining communication with physician, ancillary departments and supervisors. Enters and updates computer data and assists in maintaining supplies for the unit. Ensures proper handling of patient charts. Provides EKG monitoring for the patients in the ICU. 

Under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Technician/Front Desk Clerk will be utilized in supervised patient treatments and in maintaining the PT department in a clean and orderly manner. Responsible for front desk duties including scheduling patients, answering phone calls and verifying insurance.
