Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Director of Quality Management, the Employee Health/Quality Nurse will coordinate the patient safety programs within the OakBend Hospital System, ongoing orientation, training in infection control/employee health principles & practices to all hospital employees. This individual will work collaboratively with the hospital-partnered facilities and the hospital’s contracted services. The Employee Health/Quality Nurse will identify methods for the reduction of medical/healthcare errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse outcomes. This individual will also be responsible for all functions of the employee health program and for providing clinical employee health services. This position is also responsible for assisting in coordinating activities to improve performance based on results.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION

 

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

 

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum of two years’ experience in health care delivery systems with focus on quality/performance improvement preferred.

 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

 

Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.  Valid Drivers’ license and reliable transportation necessary as driving between campuses is required.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

 

Ability to assess abstracts of patients to determine quality of care given.  Thorough knowledge of disease management.  Well-developed oral, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
