Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Nursing, the Clinical Coordinator RN of the Skilled Nursing Unit fulfills the role of the Director of Nursing (DON). The Clinical Coordinator, RN provides oversight during the assigned shift for the clinical and non-clinical staff in the administering of excellent patient care and customer service. This position assumes clinical responsibility for the specialty by providing orientation, teaching, clinical supervision and evaluation of personnel assigned to the area. The Clinical Coordinator, RN / DON supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital and according to state guidelines.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program. BSN preferred.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
Two years clinical experience, preferably in long term acute or skilled nursing care. One year experience as a Clinical Coordinator / Charge Nurse preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Current licensure in Texas as a registered Nurse. American Heart Association BLS required.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated leadership ability and critical thinking skills required. Excellent communication skills. Computer skills.
