Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Director and Manager, the lead Medical Technologist is responsible for providing supervision of other professional and non-professional staff in the Laboratory. The Lead Medical Technologist ensures staff delivers excellent patient care, customer service, and efficient and accurate analysis of specimens processed in the clinical laboratory. In the absence of the Laboratory Director and/or Laboratory Manager, the Lead Medical Technologist is responsible for providing direction to personnel of the clinical laboratory.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science from an accredited college or university.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
4 years experience in a clinical laboratory.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
ASCP or equivalent certification.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and skills to perform procedures in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, point-of-care, Phlebotomy, and administrative skills.
