Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Medical Director and the general supervision of the Laboratory Director and Manager, the Lead Histologist is responsible for the efficient and accurate preparation of tissue and cytology specimens processed in the Histology Department to provide quality patient care. The Lead Histologist ensures staff delivers excellent patient care, customer service, and efficient and accurate analysis of specimens processed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION

 

Associate degree from an accredited College or University

 

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

 

1-3 years in histology/pathology laboratory.

 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

 

HT (ASCP) or equivalent.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

 

Knowledge and skills for preparation of surgical specimens for Pathologist to view.
