Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapist, the Clinic Coordinator, PTA is responsible for providing day to day administration support, clinic operations and is responsible for greeting customers and providing the highest level of customer service possible. Timely accurate registrations including but not limited to obtaining demographics information and complete benefit verification.  The Clinical Coordinator, PTA is to provide various methods of Physical Therapy according to patient treatment plan. To serve as a resource person for PT’s, PT Assistants, and PT Aides.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

 

Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program.

 

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

Previous Business Office related experience of 1 to 5 years. Previous experience in Physical Therapy Preferred.

 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

 

Eligible for or licensed by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire through the American Heart Association or other pre-approved accredited certification program.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong telephone etiquette required.  Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Professionalism and strong work ethic; the ability to anticipate needs, the ability to multi-task and follow HIPAA guidelines. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles (school age, adolescent, young adult, adult and geriatric). Knowledge of regulations, QA and procedures, and quality patient care. Successful completion department specific and/or hospital required training courses. Must be able to treat patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric.
