Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Radiology Manager/Vice President of Nursing, the Radiology Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care in the Radiology Department with emphasis on those responsibilities involving invasive procedures.  When procedures are not scheduled, facilitates the provision of patient education for inpatients and outpatients.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

 

Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

 

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience in critical care or radiology nursing highly preferred.   

 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

 

Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.  Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required. ACLS required within 1 year. Valid Drivers’ license and reliable transportation necessary as driving between campuses is required.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

 

Knowledge of nursing practices, radiology procedures and quality patient care.  Ability to provide quality nursing care.
