The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the daily activities of the Sterile Processing Department. The Sterile Processing Supervisor provides for processing instrument trays and other supplies necessary for surgical procedures and for other sterile supplies in the hospital.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
High School Graduate or GED; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered. Graduate of accredited Sterile Processing Course preferred.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
2 years experience in sterile processing or preoperative services as sterile processing technician. Previous supervisory experience highly preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Certified Sterile Processing Technician through CBSPD or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA). Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Perioperative standards, sterilization standards and technician experience with computer skills.
