Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the provision of nuclear medicine services to patients according to physicians’ orders. Provides for patient safety and high quality testing.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited or registered school of Nuclear Medicine Technology, or Registered through the ARRT and having passed the required ARRT Registry exam, or taken the specific courses necessary for the NMTCB exam.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in hospital environment.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Certified and registered in Nuclear Medicine. Current registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board). American Heart Association BLS required. Valid Drivers’ license and reliable transportation necessary as driving between campuses is required.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of regulations, radiation safety and quality patient care. Ability to generate quality images in a timely manner.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This department is staffed to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. It may require working weekends and holidays as well as taking call on weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Generally scheduled 8 hour shifts. Schedules and work shifts may be changed in respect to patient procedure demands and hospital census. During low census or low procedure volumes, staff may be required to float to other OakBend locations where deemed competent, flex hours, or rotate days off without pay.
