Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Manager of the unit, the Clinical Coordinator, RN provides oversight during the assigned shift for the clinical and non-clinical staff in the administering of excellent patient care and customer service. This position assumes clinical responsibility for the specialty by providing orientation, teaching, clinical supervision and evaluation of personnel assigned to the area. The Clinical Coordinator, RN supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff in pursuant to the objectives of the hospital.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION

 

Graduate of an accredited Nursing program:  BSN preferred.

 

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

 

One year clinical experience in specialty required. One year experience as a Clinical Coordinator / Charge Nurse preferred.

 

REQURIED LICENSES/CERTIIFCATIONS

 

Current licensure in Texas as a registered Nurse. American Heart Association BLS required. ACLS certification preferred within the first year of hire. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

 

Demonstrated leadership ability and critical thinking skills required.  Excellent communication skills.  Computer skills.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

 

Includes working rotational shifts, holiday, and every other weekend. May be required to participate in “on call” basis staffing. Schedules and work shifts may be changed in respect to patient procedure demands and hospital census. During low census or low procedure volumes, staff may be required to rotate days off without pay or utilize skills within the hospital. Essential personnel during a disaster or emergency event; may be required to shelter in.
