Under the general direction of the Security Manager, the Security Officer is responsible for the general work in the protection of persons and property, and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations at OakBend Medical Center. Observes behavioral health patients as assigned. Also to include applicable federal, state, and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in security; experience in hospital security preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Certified commissioned security officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety (Security Board). Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License. American Heart Association BLS Certification required within 60 days of employment. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI Certification) within 6 months of employment.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Must be able to read and write English and follow oral and written instructions. Some knowledge of security and law enforcement practices. Ability to produce a concise, accurate, and well-written report. Ability to solve problems on an independent basis.
WORK SCHEDULE
The unit/department is staffed to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. It requires working weekends and holidays. Generally scheduled 8 hour shifts day or night rotations.
