Responsibilities

The Central Patient Access Representative is the first line of quality service to our patients and our guests.  This position serves as the ambassador of service, setting the standard by which all other departments and services are judged.

 

The position’s main responsibilities include greeting customers and subsequently providing the highest level of customer service possible.  Timely and accurate registrations including but not limited to obtaining demographics information, complete benefit verifications by Alpha Split for Outpatient and Inpatient services, Calculations of  Payment for Patient Portion due for services, Transfer of patient Services and providing insurance clearance for patient to hospital, Bed Control , crossed trained to cover any position in the Main Admission Department, Skilled Nursing Clearance, patient education (regarding benefits) and appropriate authorizations/clinicals for approved Oak Bend physicians for services rendered are the responsibility of the Central Patient Access Representative.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION

 

High school diploma or GED; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered.

 

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

 

Previous Business Office related experience of 1 to 5 years.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

 

Excellent interpersonal skills required.  Typing 35 words per minute.
